Ever year Anglesea Primary School produces a school magazine as a history of the year that has been. Below is sa report about the 2025 Village Fair.
Village Fair FANTASTIC Result
The 2025 Village Fair, held in the week before the school holidays commenced, was a fantastic success. We had huge and very consistent crowds throughout the day, at one point the queue to get in was back to the front gate, with everyone keen to make a donation and buy their raffle tickets. It was a great mix of some of our favourite stalls, like the cakes and fresh produce and books and toys, and new arrivals like the chocolate toss. People were able to enjoy hot dogs and burgers with Blackmans beers and Pondalowie wines while listening to the Anglesea Rock Choir, Ben Birchall, Superlike and who could forget our amazing students displaying their talents on the stage and dancing along to DJ Dollarbucks at the end. As always the rides drew a crowd with wristbands still being sold well after 6pm and squeals permeated all over the oval from the dizzy heights of the giant slide and the crazy spinning of the Cha Cha.
The school community came together in force with all stalls and activities being fully staffed with volunteers, record donations for silent auction and books and toys and of course a massive shout out to our sponsors, many of whom are school families.
We're over the moon to announce that the overall profit for the Village Fair this year is $33,465.20. This is a 5% increase on the profit from last year and this without the pull of the crowd from a long weekend.
The funds were earmarked to be used for improvements to the indoor and/or outdoor basketball courts/gymnasium (including possible resurfacing), which would benefit the school community as well as the broader community groups who also make use of the facilities or for upgrading classroom libraries and extra resources for wellbeing spaces and we'll now work with the school council to best allocate the funds accordingly.
A big shout out to the Village Fair organising team, a group of 20+ parents who's work on the fair begins way back in October and who work tirelessly behind the scenes over months to ensure the fair is able to be the success it is.
Thank you to everyone involved in the fair whether in the lead up, on the day or through spending $$ which helps support our school.
